The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has invited applications from undergraduate students who are in their penultimate year as well as those pursuing postgraduate studies for its 2026 Summer Internship Program.

This internship is designed to provide practical research training utilising a range of hardware and software analytical tools.

Here are key things to know

Stipend: The institute will offer a stipend of Rs 10,000 monthly for up to two months. 

Registration Deadline

The registration deadline is March 30. The internship will start on May 25, 2026. 

Selected candidates will collaborate under the guidance of IIT Mandi faculty members in diverse research fields.

Eligibility And Educational Qualifications

— A total of 68 institutions nationwide have established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Mandi.

— Students enrolled in these 68 institutions are eligible to apply. Applicants should verify if their institution is part of this MoU.

— Students in their penultimate year of a bachelor's degree in engineering/technology or in the initial year of any postgraduate (PG) programme are encouraged to apply.

— The summer internship initiative is designed to familiarise undergraduate and postgraduate students with research, foster academic inquisitiveness, and motivate them to consider careers in education and research.
