Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the people have reiterated their faith in the BJP. Maharashtra has strengthened its resolve for a Viksit Bharat. The results show that the country is only yearning for development, he said.
"This is the third time that the BJP-led alliance has won...the third time that BJP has emerged as the biggest party in Maharashtra...this is definitely historic. This is a reflection of the BJP's governance model," Modi said, NDTV reported.
After Haryana, Maharashtra has sent a message of 'Ek Hain Toh Safe Hain'. This has becomes a "mahamantra for the country", PM Modi told BJP workers.
The prime minister went on to say that the Opposition is not able to understand the changed mood of the country. "These people not only do not want to accept the truth, they even today underestimate the discretion of the common voter of India," he said.
The voters of the country are with the idea of 'Nation First'. The voters of the country do not like those who dream of the 'chair first', Modi said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, to address party workers after the Mahayuti alliance's landslide win in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
"It is the victory of development, good governance and social justice in Maharashtra, and it is the defeat of negative politics and dynastic politics," the prime minister said, PTI reported.
Maharashtra has broken all records, it is the biggest win for any party or pre-poll alliance in last 50 years, Modi said.
He also hailed Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar for the victory.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the I.N.D.I.A bloc's win in Jharkhand assembly elections is victory for protection of water, forest and land, along with that of constitution, PTI reported.
Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge also spoke about the win. "We have to fight for social justice, raise voice of people and form accountable government in Jharkhand," he said.
On the loss in Maharashtra, Gandhi said that the results were unexpected and that the party will analyse the outcome in detail.
"Our victory today makes our shoulders heavy with the huge responsibilities the people of Maharashtra have bestowed upon us for the next 5 years. We shall spend every moment working to fulfil their aspirations. We shall not spend a single moment speaking against anyone, we will speak only and only for the development of Maharashtra and the welfare of its people," NCP chief Ajit Pawar posted on X.
"Cannot believe Maharashtra, which listened to me as head of family during COVID, will behave with me this way," Shiv Sena UBT president and former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray was quoted as saying by news agency PTI. His party, as per the Election Commission trends, was poised to win in only 20 out of the 95 seats it contested.
As the Mahayuti grouping took major lead in the Maharashtra assembly elections, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde held a press conference at Varsha Bungalow, the CM's official residence, in Mumbai.
More than winning votes, it matters we have won the trust of the people, Shinde said.
Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar, Devendra Fadnavis and other Mahayuti leaders were also present at the press conference.
"This is a landslide victory for us...Once the counting gets completed, the three parties will sit together (to decide the CM). We don't have any difference of opinion among us," Shinde said, PTI reported.
Shinde praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he gave strong backing to the state government's policies. Maharashtra received huge support from the centre in leading the state towards development, the Shiv Sena leader said.
People came together and showed the power of unity, Shinde said as he went on to call it a historic day for Maharashtra.
As of 04:00 p.m. the I.N.D.I.A bloc was leading with 55 seats out of total 81 seats in the Jharkhand assembly and NDA was trailing with 25 seats, The I.N.D.I.A. bloc was trailing in early trends, but recovered as counting ripened. It crossed the majority mark before early noon, NDTV reported.
As of 03:52 p.m., the NDA was leading with 229 seats out of 288 seats in the Maharashtra assembly. While, the MVA was trailing with 53 seats, NDA had long crossed the majority mark in early trends, as per NDTV.

After trailing in very early trends, the I.N.D.I.A. bloc in a twist took lead over the NDA. The I.N.D.I.A. comprises of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Congress, and Rashtriya Janata Dal. The bloc surpassed the majority mark in the Jharkhand Assembly elections.
As of 10:30 a.m. NDA was leading in Maharashtra with 216 seats with the majority mark crossed at 145. In Jharkhand the I.N.D.I.A. alliance was leading at 50 seats with the majority mark crossed at 41 as per NDTV.

By 10 a.m., the ruling alliance, led by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Shiv Sena, and Nationalist Congress Party factions under Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, was leading in 210 of the 288 seats.
Zeeshan Siddique, son of the late NCP leader Baba Siddique, is currently trailing in Mumbai's Bandra East constituency. In the ongoing count, Varun Sardesai of Shiv Sena (UBT) is in the lead with a narrow margin, securing 2,791 votes, while Zeeshan Siddique has received 2,129 votes so far, as per the Indian Express.
In Maharashtra assembly election, NDA crossed the majority mark of 145 seats as it secured 204 seats in early trends at 09:51 a.m. as per NDTV.
As of 9:44 a.m., official data from the Election Commission website shows Aditya Thackeray, son of Uddhav Thackeray, leading in the Worli seat by 4,231 votes. The first round of counting results have been announced, with Thackeray receiving 4,231 votes, while Milind Deora trails with 3,736 votes. The total number of votes counted so far stands at 10,584.

Mumbai Police have implemented a restriction on public gatherings within a 300-metre radius of all 36 counting centres across the city, which cover the 36 Assembly constituencies. As per the order, no person, except for election officials or public servants on duty, will be allowed to loiter or form assemblies within this radius. The order is in effect until midnight on November 24.

Maharashtra election results will be out on Saturday after voting for all the 288 assembly seats concluded on Nov. 20, with a record voter turnout. The final turnout in Maharashtra polls was 66.05% as per EVM votes, up from 61.1% in 2019, Election Commission officials said on Thursday. The vote counting will commence at 8 a.m.
