Cyclone Murasu Landfall: Date, Time And Location
The IMD said Murasu was very likely to continue moving northwestwards before crossing the south Andhra Pradesh coast as a severe cyclonic storm.
Landfall is expected between Nellore and Narsapur, close to Ongole, from around 11:30 pm on Monday to the early hours of Tuesday, Nov. 3, with the likely window extending until 4 am.
The system is expected to bring sustained wind speeds of 100-110 kmph, with gusts reaching 120 kmph during the coastal crossing.
Cyclone Murasu Under Radar Surveillance
The IMD said the cyclone was under continuous surveillance by Doppler Weather Radars located in Chennai, Machilipatnam and Visakhapatnam.
The approaching storm has put the south Andhra Pradesh coastline under close weather monitoring, with the expected intensity of winds making the timing and location of landfall particularly important.
The IMD is tracking the cyclone's movement and intensity as it approaches the coast, with further updates expected through its subsequent bulletins.
