Royal Challengers Bengaluru announced a financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh each for the families of the 11 supporters who lost their lives in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium during the team's IPL victory celebrations in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
"The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of Rs 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased," RCB shared on its X profile.
"In addition, a fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. Our fans will always remain at the heart of everything that we do. We remain united in grief," it further added.

As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial… pic.twitter.com/C50WID1FEIJune 5, 2025AdvertisementKarnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday said that 11 people died and 33 were injured due to a stampede near Chinnaswamy Stadium, where a special felicitation ceremony was organised by the Karnataka State Cricket Academy to honour the RCB players for its maiden IPL victory, ending a 18-year-old long wait.
"I don't want to defend this incident. Our government will not do politics on this. I have ordered a magisterial inquiry and given 15 days' time," he added.
"There was a stampede. No one expected such a huge crowd. The stadium has a capacity of only 35,000 people, but 2-3 lakh people came," Siddaramaiah further said.
Before the stampede was reported, visuals that emerged on television and social media showed police trying to manage the scores of RCB supporters who turned up at the stadium to witness the felicitation of the team.
