Bank Holidays Next Week: Ahead Of Busy Month, Five Holidays Listed From March 31 To April 5

April will see 14 bank holidays, including six weekend offs. On weekdays, banks will be closed for only eight days, with most being region specific.

After a month packed with festivities, banks are set for a busy April with fewer holidays and the start of a new financial year. 

Banks are expected to focus on planning and audits next month, marking a critical period for operational, regulatory, and economic activities.

Banks will be closed for a total of 14 holidays in April, including six weekend holidays. On weekdays, banks will be closed for eight days, with most being region-specific. Prominent holidays in April are April 1, April 3 and April 14, which most states and union territories will observe. 

However, before banking activities pick up pace, the coming week offers a short break, with as many as five holidays lined up across different states.

Bank Holidays Next Week

March 31 - Gujarat, Karnataka, MP, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, UP, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chattisgarh (Mahavir Jayanti)

April 1- All except northeast (excluding Tripura), Sikkim, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh (To enable to banks to close their yearly accounts)

April 2: Kerala (Maundy Thursday)

April 3: Everywhere except Tripura, Chandigarh, Assam, Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir (Good Friday)

April 5: Sunday

April 4, the first Saturday of the month, will be a working day for banks. According to the Reserve Bank of India, only the second and fourth Saturdays are designated holidays for banking institutions across India.

April 16: Holiday in Assam (Bohag Bihu)

April 20: Holiday in Karnataka (Basava Jayanti / Akshaya Tritiya)

April 21: Holiday in Tripura (Garia Puja)

April 11, 25: Second and fourth Saturdays

April 5, 12, 19, 26: Sundays
