A woman employee at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has accused colleagues at its Nashik unit of sexual harassment, inappropriate physical contact, and coercive behaviour. According to the complaint filed with police, the woman—who joined the company as an associate shortly after her marriage in June 2025—faced repeated verbal and physical misconduct during and after her training period.

She alleged that certain colleagues made intrusive remarks about her personal life and marriage, and subjected her to derogatory comments, NDTV reported. “As I was walking through the lobby… I felt someone tug at my pallu. When I turned around, I saw that my pallu was in Raza's hand," she told the police, according to the news channel.

She further alleged that the individual “looked at me with a lewd gaze and smiled.”

The complainant also accused another colleague of repeated physical advances. “He would deliberately touch my body, grab my hand, and occasionally place his hand on my thigh or shoulder,” she stated, as per the NDTV report, adding that the behaviour continued despite her clear discomfort.

She also alleged that he once “grabbed [her] in a tight embrace,” forcing her to push him away.

The woman claimed she did not report the incidents earlier out of fear of losing her job.  The harassment, she said, later extended to social media platforms after she blocked the accused.

Police in Nashik have constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) and registered nine FIRs in connection with the cases related to sexual harassment that have emerged.

Authorities confirmed that eight people have been arrested so far.

In a statement, TCS reiterated its “zero-tolerance policy” towards harassment, adding that the employees named in the allegations have been suspended.

The company also said that its preliminary internal review had not received complaints of a similar nature through official channels but has now initiated an independent probe.

Meanwhile, family members of one of the accused have denied the allegations, claiming they are “false” and motivated by workplace rivalry. Investigations are ongoing.
