ITDC’s New Focus: Niche Tourism 

ITDC also plans to focus on event management and skill development in the unorganised sector.

India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. plans to focus on niche tourism markets to grow its business.

The state-owned firm is exploring opportunities including farm stays in Punjab and ecotourism in Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh, Chairman and Managing Director Ravneet Kaur told BloombergQuint in an interview.

ITDC is also working with state-level tourism bodies on events like the Surajkund crafts festival in Haryana, Kaur added. The company will also work to develop the skill sets of unorganized workers in the tourism industry, including taxi drivers and guides.
