The report stated that Indians travelled more using the Uber platform in 2024 than ever before.
"Collectively, Uber trips spanned a staggering 9.2 billion kilometres last year. To put this into perspective, if someone were to cover this distance at a constant speed of 120 km/h (the maximum allowed on India's National Expressways) it would take 8,752 years to complete," the company said.
During the year, budget options Uber Auto and Uber Go were the most preferred mode of travel.
Delhi-NCR recorded the highest number of Uber trips, followed by Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata.
While the most number of Uber trips were booked from Delhi-NCR, Mumbai topped the list of most late-night journeys. In a feat of no surprise, riders in Bengaluru took the first prize in booking the most number of Uber rides for their work commute.
December 2024 saw the highest number of rides being booked in a single month, Oct. 9, 2024 — the period during Durga Puja and Navratri — witnessed the highest number of trips booked in a single day.
Uber launched several new offerings in 2024, including its flagship white-glove option Uber Black and the country’s first licensed premium app-based bus product Uber Shuttle.
