GATE 2016 Registration Open: Here's How to Apply

GATE 2016 or Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering registration is now open and candidates can apply online.

GATE 2016 registration opened on Tuesday, September 1 and will close on October 1.

GATE 2016 aspirant on go on the official website - https://www.gate.iisc.ernet.in/ - and click on 'Apply online for GATE 2016 at https://appsgate.iisc.ernet.in' on the bottom right-hand corner of the website.

GATE 2016 online exams will be held on January 30 and January 31 (Saturday and Sunday), and February 6 and February 7 (again Saturday and Sunday) between 9.00 am and 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm and 5.00 pm.

GATE 2016 results are expected to be announced on March 19 on the official website.

GATE scores are used for admission to post-graduate engineering programmes in centrally-funded institutes, including the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Some public and private sector undertakings also consider the GATE scores for employment processes.

GATE mainly evaluates candidates' comprehensive understanding in various undergraduate subjects in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science.
