Banks To Remain Closed On These Days In November, December

Bank holidays 2019 in India: Banks are shut on all Sundays of the month.

Banks remained closed in Bengaluru, Lucknow, Kanpur and Gangtok on Tuesday on account of Bhai Tika or Bhaidooj. Banks may be shut in some metros on November 12 (Gurunanak Jayanti) and December 25 (Christmas). Banks in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata will remain shut for a total 14 days in November and December, including the Gurunanak Jayanti and Christmas holidays. Besides Sundays, all banks in the country - including public sector, private sector, foreign banks, cooperative banks and regional banks - are shut on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month.

Bank holidays often vary from state to state.

In Guwahati and Ahmedabad, banks will remain shut on October 30 for Ningol Chakouba and October 31 for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's Birthday. In Bengaluru and Shillong, banks will remain shut on November 1 and November 8 on account of Kannada Rajyostsava/Kut and Wangala Festival respectively, according to the RBI.
