Bajaj Finance Surges 17%, Q3 Net Jumps 33%

New Delhi: Bajaj Finance Ltd shares rose over 17 per cent on Wednesday after the company reported a 33 per cent rise in standalone net profit at Rs 258.38 crore for the third quarter that ended on December 31, 2014.

The company had registered a net profit of Rs 194.14 crore for the corresponding quarter of 2013-14.

"Total income has increased from Rs 1,081.5 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2013, to Rs 1,485.39 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014," it said in a filing to the BSE.

Company's income from operations rose to Rs 1,416.43 crore, from Rs 1,027.02 crore a year ago.

Bajaj Finance, which is promoted by Bajaj Finserv Ltd, is primarily in the business of financing.

As of 2:26 p.m., shares in Bajaj Finance were trading at Rs 4070.00 apiece on the BSE, up 16.92 per cent from the previous close.
