A security alert at the White House briefly interrupted media activity on Wednesday, with journalists moved indoors as the United States Secret Service secured the premises. The situation was later cleared, with officials indicating there was no active threat.

According to reports, members of the press stationed on the White House lawn were asked to relocate to the briefing room during the alert. Journalists on the scene shared updates on social media as the incident unfolded.

Another journalist, Ines Pohl, noted heightened activity along the perimeter, posting: “Security alert at the White House perimeter. The lawn press tents have been evacuated, and everyone is moving to the press room. No further information is available at this time.”

She then posted, "they re-opend it". [sic]

Officials have not yet disclosed what triggered the alert, and there was no immediate comment from the White House. But Dean then posted saying a USSS official told: "Security posture at the White House complex was temporarily elevated out of an abundance of caution for what turned out to be a radio miscommunication. There was no threat and normal operations resumed a short time later."

The brief disruption comes days after a separate security incident near the complex, where a man was detained after attempting to breach a restricted area. At the time, Secret Service Communications Chief Anthony Guglielmi said the individual was “quickly detained” after jumping a barrier near the Treasury Building.
