Spanish giants Real Madrid generated close to Euros 1.2 billion in revenue during the 2024/25 season, retaining their status as the highest revenue-generating club in world football, according to the latest Deloitte Football Money League.

The Deloitte Football Money League ranks the world's clubs by total revenue each season, aggregating matchday, broadcast, and commercial income.

Record-Breaking Year For The Elite

The 29th edition of the report notes that 2024/25 set a new benchmark, with the top 20 clubs collectively generating over Euros 12 billion. In 2023/24, Real Madrid became the first club to cross the Euros 1 billion threshold, and they have now surpassed that mark again. Deloitte's methodology encompasses matchday earnings, broadcast income, and commercial revenues to calculate club totals.

For the third straight year, commercial revenue accounted for the largest share of clubs' income. Matchday revenue reached a record Euros 2.4 billion, while broadcast income rose 10% year-on-year. Participation in the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States last summer boosted broadcast takings for the top-10 clubs, lifting that cohort's broadcast revenue by 17%.

FC Barcelona ranked second with revenue of Euros 974 million. The Catalans enjoyed a strong campaign, winning La Liga and reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, helping to propel their top-line number.

England's Heavy Hitters Crowd The Top 10

While the top two spots went to Spanish clubs, six English teams feature in the top 10.

  • Liverpool are the top-ranked English club at 5th, posting revenue of Euros 836 million.
  • Manchester City placed 6th with Euros 829 million.
  • Arsenal followed in 7th on Euros 822 million.
  • Manchester United slipped four places to 8th, with revenue of Euros 793 million, as broadcast income continued to suffer amid recent Champions League absences.
  • Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea rounded out the top 10. Spurs reported Euros 672 million, while Chelsea, bolstered by a FIFA Club World Cup triumph, recorded Euros 584 million.

Bayern, PSG Lead The Chase In Europe

Bayern Munich took third with Euros 861 million, underscoring their commercial strength and consistency.

Paris Saint-Germain, fresh from winning their first UEFA Champions League title, ranked fourth on Euros 837 million. No other French club made the top 20 this year; Marseille's Euros 188 million placed them 30th.

The disparity within German football is evident: behind Bayern's third-place finish, the next highest-earning Bundesliga club is Borussia Dortmund, 12th worldwide with Euros 531 million.
