Mumbai Indians (MI) are taking on Delhi Capitals (DC) in their second match of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on April 4 in Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya, though, isn't going to be playing this match.
In Pandya's absence, Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the side. The five-time winners began the new season with a commanding six-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders.

The team got a major boost in the build up to the match as New Zealand T20 skipper Mitchell Santner joined the squad. Santner did not play the match against KKR as he had requested for some personal time.
Santner has eventually made to the Mumbai's team which is facing Delhi at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Delhi captain Axar Patel won the toss and he opted to bowl first.
Why is Hardik Pandya not playing against DC?
Asked at the toss why Pandya was not featuring in the team, Suryakumar said: "Hardik's not well, doesn't look good. So, I'm getting into his shoes today."
With Hardik not playing, his spot was taken by seamer Deepak Chahar.
