Tim David produced the most destructive finishing bursts of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season so far, headlined by a 106-metre six that cleared the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium roof during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) clash against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday, April 5.

The moment arrived in the 19th over of the innings, with RCB racing towards a massive total. Facing England all-rounder Jamie Overton, David slammed his foot on the accelerator, connecting with a series of lusty hits, with the best saved for the final ball of the over.

After starting the over with 6, 2, and 4, David lifted a length delivery over mid-on, to bring up his fifty off just 21 balls. The next ball was sent flying straight back over the bowler's head and into the sightscreen for back-to-back sixes.

David wasn't done yet as he saved the best for last, staying deep in the crease and connecting with a mighty pull shot to send the ball travelling 106 metres, well over the stands and into the roof of the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

David finished unbeaten on 70 off 25 balls, showing he's back to his free-flowing best. His innings was decorated with eight sixes and three fours, with the Aussie all-rounder scoring at a strike rate of 280, repeatedly targeting both pace and spin.

Notably, he recorded two separate sequences of a hat-trick of sixes, first against Noor Ahmad in the 17th over, and then to close out the 19th against Overton, underlining the extent of his dominance.

He also shared an unbroken 99-run partnership off just 36 balls with Rajat Patidar (48* off 19 balls), taking RCB to a monster total of 250/3.

The knock was also David's highest IPL score, reinforcing his role as the high-impact finisher of RCB's lower middle order.
