Former Australian opener David Warner found himself in an awkward moment right after the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 clash against Rawalpindiz . Warner, who is captaining Karachi Kings in PSL 2026, hit a fifty as his side successfully chased down the target of Rawalpindiz on Thursday.
But after the match, cameras caught him in a tense exchange with a few teammates, prompting Team Director Haider Azhar to step in and calm things down. The clip quickly went viral on social media, especially in the backdrop of the recent on-field confrontation between LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka and skipper Rishabh Pant in the IPL. While that incident involved an unhappy team owner, this one appeared to show Warner displeased over something that happened between teammates.
A curious fan later questioned Haider Azhar online about the situation, but it was Warner himself who clarified the matter.
The fan took to X and wrote: “What was the conversation going on here @HaiderAzhar? Good win Alhamdu Lillah. No one can stop us this season In Sha Allah.”
Warner quoted the post of the fan and responded, explaining that the interaction was nothing serious: “I said to @HaiderAzhar to go first and shake hands,” he replied, downplaying the incident.
Karachi Kings are dominating the ongoing season of the PSL with three wins in three games. The hat-trick of wins has seen the team take the top spot on the PLS points table. Meanwhile, Rawalpindiz are second from the bottom in the eight-team tournament.
PSL 2026 got underway on March 26 and will run till May 3. All the PSL matches will be played at only two venues (in Lahore and Karachi) and are being played behind the closed doors due to deepening fuel crisis as a result of the crisis in West Asia.
