The Nasdaq 100 climbed 0.9%, and the group of “Magnificent Seven” tech stocks posted similar advances as investors look ahead to a busy slate of earnings from leading tech firms later this week. Asian Market Wrap

Asian currencies strengthened as the US dollar fell to its weakest level in four years, with investors growing increasingly cautious toward the world's reserve currency amid unpredictable policy signals from Washington. Equity markets in Asia were mixed, with South Korea posting gains while Japan moved lower. Meanwhile, US stock-index futures continued to climb following a Wall Street Journal report that SoftBank is in discussions to inject as much as $30 billion in additional funding into OpenAI, reports Bloomberg.

Commodities Check

Oil prices hovered close to a 16‑week peak after a sharp drop in the US dollar, with traders also keeping a close watch on renewed threats toward Iran from President Donald Trump. West Texas Intermediate traded near $63 a barrel, following a 2.9% surge in the prior session that lifted it to its strongest level since early October. Gold paused after a seven‑session climb, as markets absorbed a record-setting rally driven by dollar weakness and a broad move away from government bonds and major currencies. Spot bullion held near $5,160 an ounce, after jumping 3.4% on Tuesday—its largest single‑day advance since April. Trump said he was unconcerned about the dollar's slump, even as the currency fell to its lowest point in almost four years, reports Bloomberg.
