NTA NCET 2026: Four-Year ITEP Registration Now Open — Check Application, Correction Dates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the application procedure for the National Common Entrance Test (NCET) 2026. This examination facilitates admission into the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP). Aspiring candidates may enroll online via the official portals nta.ac.in and exams.nta.nic.in/NCET. The deadline for submitting the application form is March 10.

The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test format. Results of the NCET will be accepted for entry into ITEP courses in both Central and State Universities, along with certain IITs, NITs, and Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs).

NTA NCET application, correction dates and fee

According to the schedule shared by NTA, the registration window is open till March 10. Candidates can remit the application fee till March 11. The correction window will be open from March 12 to March 14. The NCET 2026 examination is expected to take place on April 17.

To enrol, applicants must go to the official webpage and complete the digital registration. They are required to provide personal and educational information, upload scanned photographs and signature, and pay the application fee online. After submission, applicants should save the confirmation page for future reference. The application fee is Rs 1,200 for candidates from the general category. For OBC-NCL and EWS applicants, the fee is Rs 1,000. SC, ST, PwD, and third gender applicants are required to pay Rs 650.

Exam syllabus and pattern

The NCET-2026 will be administered in a computer-based test format. The examination will be available in multiple languages. The assessment paper will include sections on language skills, general knowledge, teaching capability, and specific subject areas. The difficulty level of the examination is primarily aligned with Class 12 standards.

It focuses on areas such as reading comprehension, vocabulary, general awareness, current events, logical reasoning, and subject expertise. Applicants are required to choose their domain subjects in accordance with the programme they intend to enrol in under ITEP.
