Officials said search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate and evacuate those who may be trapped under the debris.

Pictures from the site showed scores of people gathered amid the rubble, with some using their bare hands to move heavy slabs of rock in a desperate effort to clear the passage. Others were seen capturing the devastation on their mobile phones.

Every clear lane gives an ambulance and rescue vehicle a faster way through. Please avoid the area if possible.
