About a dozen districts of Maharashtra including Pune and Nasik are on a yellow alert on Wednesday due to a cyclonic circulation over central Maharashtra and its neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels. Light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning are also expected in Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, and Ratnagiri among other districts, which have been put on a yellow alert by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The cyclonic circulation is expected to bring hailstorms, gusty winds (50-60 kmph), and thunderstorms in the orange alert districts. Most of these districts will remain on a yellow alert on Thursday, anticipating moderate rainfall and strong winds.
