Heavy Rainfall In Tamil Nadu For Next Two Days: IMD Issues Orange Alert In Four Districts

Heavy rainfall is expected in Tamil Nadu until March 12, with several southern districts of the state placed under an orange and yellow alert by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for Tuesday. Isolated areas in Tamil Nadu may also experience light to moderate rainfall today, but the rain spell will intensify at some locations tomorrow.

Besides Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and the port city of Karaikal are also expected to receive rainfall this week.

“Light-moderate rain is likely at isolated places over coastal Tamil Nadu on March 10; at many places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas on Mar. 11; at few places over south Tamil Nadu and, at isolated places over north Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and Karaikal areas on Mar. 12,” the IMD's Chennai centre said on Monday.
