Delhi government-supported institutions affiliated with the University of Delhi are poised to experience modern tech-enhanced classrooms, digital libraries, and renewed fiscal pledges, as Education Minister Ashish Sood unveiled a campus makeover strategy on Thursday.
These declarations were made during a gathering at Maharaja Agrasen College, but officials indicated that the initiatives apply to DU colleges financed by the Delhi government, many of which have encountered financial and managerial upheavals in recent years.

New upgrade for colleges
Intelligent Learning Spaces to enhance digital and engaging education, Library Management System powered by RFID to automate the tracking of books and the borrowing-returning process, a newly established Student Support Center, and Multimedia Conference Hall are among the key upgrades.
The RFID framework is anticipated to streamline library functions and enhance access to educational resources, while Intelligent Learning Spaces are designed to modernize instructional methods across campuses.
The institutions poised to gain from the enhancement comprise several of the university's most esteemed establishments, like Delhi College of Arts, St. Stephen's College, and Lady Shri Ram College, alongside others.
Government school upgrades
Moving beyond higher education, the minister announced that 7,000 classrooms for Grades 9 to 12 in Delhi's government schools will be upgraded into Smart Classrooms in the upcoming phase, signifying a wider technology-driven transformation.
The administration has also set an ambitious objective of establishing Delhi as a "Knowledge Hub" by 2047.

For the students and faculty of DU, the immediate repercussions will depend on how swiftly these initiatives, from Smart Classrooms to financial stability, result in noticeable, enduring enhancements on campus.
The minister said that the government's broader aim is to position Delhi as a knowledge capital by 2047, when India marks 100 years of independence, stressing that the focus would be on strengthening systems across schools, colleges, technical institutes and research centres.
