Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd. on Thursday welcomed its 100th commercial vessel, MSC Michela, within just six months of operations, marking a significant milestone in India's efforts to become a global transshipment hub.

Karan Adani, managing director of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd., shared this news on his X profile on Thursday.

"The arrival of MSC Michela, the 100th commercial vessel to dock at Vizhinjam Port in under six months, is another milestone in India's rapid emergence as a global transshipment hub," wrote Karan Adani on his X profile.

"With automated container handling, this new port in Kerala is a forerunner of our drive towards leveraging state-of-the-art technology in ports and logistics," the Adani Ports MD further shared.
