Think people living in the United States are lucky? Well, this Instagram rant of an engineer, riled with everything from New Jersey snow to real estate prices and ICE, might make you change your mind.

Ahsan Goraya is, his Instagram profile says, an engineer, a content creator and a traveller. With over 8,000 followers, Goraya's frustration with clearing snow has found a way to his social media followers, and the rants somehow resonate with the audience.

On Monday, Goraya posted a video of himself, clearing snow and ranting, with the caption: “I'm officially done. I can't handle this weather anymore.”

In the video, he can be heard saying that this was going to be the last year, and how he was going to move out of the state (New Jersey). “Every single week, every other day, I have been dealing with this now. You buy a $1 million house, $6,000 mortgage, and if you rent it, $5,000 rent. And what are you getting? This…every single day (sic),” the US-based engineer laments as he keeps shovelling the snow.

He asserts that he was done with “this” and was moving out of “here”.

“What am I getting here? Oh, you are close to New York City! What am I getting from New York City? In the last six months, I have not gone one time into the city once. Oh, you have so many things to do, I don't want to do these things,” he continues his rant.

The video has been viewed by more than 2,32,000 people in just 12 hours. Goraya said he will be okay somewhere in Texas or in Florida. “I don't need to deal with this thing. This is going to be the last year in this state. I'm done with this New Jersey.”

His tryst with the New Jersey snow is not new, though. In another video, posted on his Instagram handle, he can be seen clearing layers of snow and ranting about it at the same time.

“You don't get hurricanes. You don't get earthquakes. And what do we get? This. I am tired of this. From last seven hours, I have been doing this, and it's not going away. I am moving to Florida (sic),” he bemoans.

He, in another one of his posts, breaks the “myth” that people were happier in the United States. “Lucky? I landed with two suitcases and no backup plan. No inheritance. No connections. No safety net,” Goraya says, adding that he faced racism, insults, survival jobs and people telling him “go back to your country”.

“When failure is not an option, luck is not a part of the equation. I did not get lucky, I got relentless,” he said.
