Iran has finalised its formal response to mediated proposals for the ongoing war and will go public with the details 'when necessary', according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry.
Esmail Baghaei, spokesperson of the ministry, highlighted that Tehran has no intention of bowing to international pressure, news agency IRNA reported.
The 15-point negotiation plan was shared through mediators, stated Baghaei. “A few days ago, they put forward proposals through intermediaries, and the 15-point US plan was reflected through Pakistan and some other friendly countries.” He labelled the proposal "extremely ambitious, unusual, and illogical".
Baghaei mentioned that Iran has its own demands, “Based on our own interests, based on our own considerations, we codified the set of demands that we had and have,” Baghaei added.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson pushed back against critics who view mediation as a sign of weakness, “The fact that the Islamic Republic of Iran presents its views very quickly and bravely in response to a plan should not be considered a sign of surrendering to the enemy.”
Further, he added, “From the moment this discussion was raised, we have formulated our responses. Whenever necessary, we will clearly inform you.”

15-Point Plan
The American proposal reportedly outlines a broad set of negotiation points, including the retrenchment of Iran's nuclear program and restrictions on its missile development. Additionally, the deal calls for the guaranteed reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a cessation of support for regional proxies, and a transition toward a phased lifting of economic sanctions, as per media reports.
In a sharp pivot, Iran has presented a five-point counterproposal that prioritises seeking not just an end to current hostilities and assassinations, but a permanent shield against future military action. Furthermore, the plan calls for a comprehensive truce across all regional fronts and formal international acknowledgment of Iran's undisputed sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz.
A senior Iranian official told state television that Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met.
