The excise duty increase is expected to bring additional revenue to the state. Rajasthan's excise collection has grown by 15% over the last 18 months, generating about Rs 3,500 crore. The new price revision could add another Rs 1,500 crore to the state treasury by 2026. Liquor is one of the main sources of revenue for the government.

The state has 7,665 licensed liquor shops. This year, 98% of liquor shops were successfully auctioned on time, which ensures the new prices are implemented smoothly across the state.

The price increase may cause a short-term drop in sales, as some consumers may buy less or switch to cheaper brands. Demand is expected to return to normal over time because alcohol is a regular purchase for many people.
