Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) booked their place in the Women's Premier League 2026 (WPL 2026) final with a dominant eight-wicket win over UP Warriorz in Vadodara on Jan. 29. All-rounder Grace Harris was the standout performer. She first delivered with the ball, picking up 2/22, and then made the chase look effortless with a blazing 75 off 37 deliveries.

The victory ensured RCB finished the league stage at the top of the table. With just two matches left in the league phase, the fight for the remaining playoff berths is still alive, and four teams remain in the mix.

MI vs GG: Who Has The Better Chance To Qualify

Mumbai Indians (MI) and Gujarat Giants (GG) face off this evening in their final league match. With both teams playing their last game, the stakes couldn't be higher. So, who is better placed to make the WPL 2026 playoffs? Let's find out.

Gujarat Giants: Gujarat Giants climbed to second place after a nail-biting three-run win over Delhi Capitals. They now have eight points from seven matches. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are close behind on six points each. Gujarat Giants' easiest route to qualification is simple. They just need to beat Mumbai Indians. A win of any margin will take them to 10 points and should be enough to seal a playoff spot.

If they lose, GG can still make it through, but only if UP Warriorz defeat Delhi Capitals in the final league match. But Gujarat Giants remain under pressure because their net run rate (NRR) is a poor -0.271, which makes them vulnerable. Even a narrow loss to MI could put them in danger if Delhi go on to beat UPW by a comfortable margin.

Mumbai Indians: Defending champions Mumbai Indians are in a strong position mainly because they have the best NRR (+1.247) among the teams fighting for the last two playoff spots. Mumbai Indians' path to qualification is clear. They need to beat Gujarat Giants. A win would take MI to eight points and, given their strong NRR, should be enough to secure a playoff spot. But if MI lose to GG, the situation becomes complicated. Then they would need Delhi Capitals to lose to UP Warriorz, and the margins in both matches would also have to fall in MI's favour to stay ahead on NRR.

Mumbai Indians have the better chance to qualify. They have the strongest NRR and qualification is largely in their control if they win tonight. Gujarat Giants are close too, but their poor NRR means even a small slip could open the door for Delhi Capitals.

What About the Other Two Teams?

Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz will face off in the final league match of this season's WPL on Feb 1, with both teams still in the mix, but under very different circumstances.

Delhi Capitals: After a shaky start, winning just one of their first four games, Delhi Capitals bounced back with wins over MI and RCB. However, the loss to Gujarat Giants on Jan. 27 has left DC with little room for error. A win against UP Warriorz will see DC through to the eliminator, regardless of the MI-GG result. If they lose and GG beat MI by a big margin, a three-way tie could occur, with NRR deciding who advances. The Capitals do have the advantage of playing the final game with a clear picture of what they need to do.

UP Warriorz: They are on the brink after the Jan. 29 loss to RCB. Sitting at the bottom with four points and the poorest NRR (-1.146), they are still mathematically alive. To qualify, they must beat DC by a massive margin and hope GG thrash MI to boost UPW's NRR above both MI and DC.
