With only a few weeks remaining before the lights go out at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, marking the start of the 2026 Formula 1 season, there have already been quite a few surprises in the Bahrain testing sessions so far.

While Mercedes continues to dominate the pre-season testing, Ferrari has drawn quite a few eyebrows thanks to a unique rotating rear wing that can flip on its iconic red car.

Here's How It Looks

The team has termed it a flow-turning device, and it is located behind the exhaust.

This small aerodynamic piece helps guide airflow from the exhaust,  speeds up air coming out of the diffuser and pushes faster air toward the underside of the rear wing, increasing grip. In short, it helps the car stick to the track better without adding extra drag.

The innovation has made the best of the engineering brains curious to see if this will help Ferrari have the edge over their rivals.

In addition to this unique rear wing, Ferrari as a team has impressed in pre-season so far and is looking like the second or best team on the grid. Ferrari's engine has particularly stood out for its mileage and reliability.

Having struggled to gain any traction with the SF-25 last season, Ferrari is hopeful about the season ahead, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc keen on mounting a title challenge with the SF-26, which already looks far more reliable and competent.
