India's Smriti Mandhana was announced as the ICC Women's ODI Cricketer of the Year for 2024 on Monday.

The left-handed opener's ability to produce runs against "high-calibre opposition" makes her stand out against her counterparts, according to the press release by the International Cricket Council.

Mandhana set new personal records in One Day Internationals, amassing 747 runs in 13 innings throughout 2024, her highest total in a year.

This remarkable achievement made her the top run-scorer in world ODIs for the year, surpassing Laura Wolvaardt with 697 runs, Tammy Beaumont scoring 554 runs and Hayley Matthews backing 469 runs.
