Meanwhile, the yield on 10-year US Treasuries dropped nine basis points to 4.18%, and the US dollar index rose 0.3%. This market volatility comes amid concerns about artificial intelligence spending and its potential impact on the economy, reported Bloomberg
Asia Market Wrap
Global stocks continued their downward trend in Asian trading, following significant losses in US tech stocks and cryptocurrencies that dampened investor sentiment. Asian shares fell as much as 1.1% after Wall Street gauges declined, with the Nasdaq 100 suffering its worst three-day rout since April's meltdown. Shares in South Korea dropped as much as 5.1% on Friday, before paring some of the losses. Hang Seng futures fell 1.4%n while Nikkei 225 futures (OSE) fell 0.7%, reports Bloomberg.
Commodities Check
Silver fell, after plunging 20% on Thursday, as a lack of liquidity led to wild price swings in a market struggling to find a floor. Spot silver tumbled to as low as $64 an ounce in early Asian trading. It's retreated more than 40% from a record high hit on Jan. 29 and wiped out all of its gains from a spectacular rally last month. Gold also dropped 0.7% to $4,745.27. Platinum and palladium declined, reports Bloomberg.
Oil extended a drop, with planned talks between Iran and the US later on Friday easing the immediate risk of military conflict and supply disruptions. Brent traded near $67 a barrel, after losing 2.8% on Thursday, reported Bloomberg.
