Indian equity benchmarks opened higher after Tuesday's slump. The BSE Sensex rose as much as 0.7% or 558 points to 84,784 and the NSE Nifty 50 rose as much as 0.6% to 25,581. The broader markets, represented by the NSE Nifty 500 Index also gained 0.6%, led by the rally in Birlasoft and Scheafflear India.
All the sectoral gauges compiled by the NSE traded higher, led by the NSE Nifty IT Index's 2.8% rally. The market breadth was tilted in favour of buyers. Nearly seven in 10 stocks advanced on the BSE.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan's Nikkei 225 rose over 1.4% to a fresh high, while Topix added 0.3%. South Korea's Kospi gained 1.72% to cross 6,000 for the first time; SK Hynix rose 0.6% and Samsung Electronics added 0.88%, while Kosdaq edged up 0.16%. Australia's S&P/ASX 200 climbed 1.13%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.39%, and China's CSI 300 added 0.49% after a tech-led rally on Wall Street eased concerns around AI-related disruption in some industries.

Stock Market Live: IRFC Falls Up To 4.2% As OFS Opens For Non-Retail Investors
- IRFC fell as much as 4.2% to Rs 104.82 on the NSE, even as the Nifty 50 was up 0.7%.
- The stock moved lower as bidding opened for non-retail investors under the government’s offer-for-sale, through which the Centre will dilute a 4% stake in IRFC.
- Trading volume was about twice the 30-day average, with turnover of around Rs 177 crore.
Stock Market Live: CLSA Raises Target Prices On JSW Steel, Tata Steel And Jindal Steel By 7–30%
- CLSA raised its share price targets on JSW Steel, Tata Steel and Jindal Steel, citing a sharp rise in domestic and imported steel prices in India from the lows seen in December 2025.
- The brokerage said the move has been supported by the imposition of a safeguard duty and seasonal strength, and that higher steel prices should support gross margins for steelmakers.
- CLSA said factors such as the safeguard duty in India, a potential demand pick-up in Europe, and production or import restrictions in China could help set a floor for steel prices, and it expects this to support earnings and valuations for steel stocks.
Stock Market Live: RM Drip Hits 20% Low; Aditya Infotech Jumps 10% On Heavy Volumes
- RM Drip And Sprinkler Systems fell as much as 20% to Rs 97.75, with trading volume more than six times its 20-day average.
- Morepen Laboratories dropped as much as 4.3% to Rs 44.47, with volume more than double its 20-day average.
- Aditya Infotech rose as much as 10% to Rs 1,621, with trading volume more than 250 times its 20-day average.
- Infosys gained as much as 3.1% to Rs 1,314 with volume 26% above its 20-day average
- SAIL rose as much as 3.4% to Rs 165.68 on more than three times its 20-day average
- Vedanta added as much as 3.7% to Rs 721 with volume 9.2% above its 20-day average.

Stock Market Live: Macquarie Flags Take-Rate Gap Between Swiggy And Zomato, Keeps Underperform On Both
- Macquarie said Swiggy has trailed Zomato by about 150 bps on net take rates since FY23, and consensus assumes the current duopoly continues without take-rate deflation.
- The brokerage put food delivery EBITDA margins at 6% for Zomato versus 5% for Swiggy, and said the market values Zomato’s food delivery business at about $12–14 billion.
- Macquarie said its fair value is 30–35% below consensus for both businesses and maintained an underperform rating on both Eternal and Swiggy; it also noted take rate refers to the commission charged to restaurants as a percentage of GMV (total order value).
Stock Market Live: Solar Stocks In Focus After US Sets 126% Preliminary Duties On Imports From India
- The US Commerce Department set preliminary duties of 126% on solar imports from India after it said the country unfairly subsidised manufacturing.
- The department also set initial duties ranging from 86% to 143% for Indonesia and 81% for Laos, based on its finding that subsidies let exporters undercut US solar products.
- The proposed duties could raise costs for solar imports into the US, according to the update.
