Gold Price Today: MCX Rate Jumps Over Rs 3,000 After US-Iran Ceasefire Deal

MCX gold April futures contract rose 2.13% to Rs 1,51,894 per 10 grams, while the MCX silver May futures 5.01% to Rs 2,42,950 per kg.

Gold Price Today: The yellow precious  metal rate climbed on India's MCX on Wednesday, April 8 after US President Donald Trump announced temporary ceasefire with Iran, easing geopolitical tensions.

At 9:02 am on Wednesday, the MCX gold April futures contract rose 2.13% or Rs 3,161  to Rs 1,51,894 per 10 grams, while the MCX silver May futures  jumped 5.01% or 11,602 to Rs 2,42,950 per kg.

The MCX gold May futures closed 0.33% up at Rs 1,48,900 per 10 grams on Tuesday, April 7, while the MCX silver May futures ended 1.11% lower to Rs 2,30,779 per kg.

In the global markets, the yellow metal surged up to 3.1% to $4,850 an ounce, continuing a 1.2% gain in the previous session. In a socila media post, Trump said that he had agreed to halt attacks on Iran less than two hours before his own deadline to wipe out Iran's "whole civilisation", mentioning that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz as a key condition for the suspension of attacks.
