FPIs Stay Net Sellers For Second Straight Session, Offload Equities Worth Rs Rs 5,901 Crore

Foreign portfolio investors stayed net sellers on Tuesday for the second straight session as they sold equities worth Rs 5,901.63 crore, according to provisional data from the National Stock Exchange.

On Friday, the FPIs net sold equities worth Rs 4,352.8 crore.

Meanwhile, the domestic institutional investors remained net buyers for the third consecutive session on Tuesday, as they mopped up equities worth Rs 4,322.58 crore.

In March, the FPIs net offloaded equities worth Rs 3,973 crore, according to data updated so far by the National Securities Depository Ltd.'s data.

In February, the FPIs net offloaded equities worth Rs 34,574 crore. This was preceded by net selling of Rs 78,027 crore in January.

In 2025 so far, the overseas investors have net sold equities worth Rs 1.16 lakh crore, the NSDL data showed.

India's benchmark equity indices closed lower for the second consecutive session on Tuesday, weighed down by HDFC Bank Ltd. and ICICI Bank Ltd.

The NSE Nifty 50 ended 353.65 points or 1.5% down at 23,165.70, the lowest level since March 20. The BSE Sensex ended 1,390.41 points or 1.8% lower at 76,024.51, the lowest since March 21.
