The pre-wedding celebrations of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok began with an intimate mehendi ceremony in Mumbai, attended by close family members and several prominent names from the cricketing world. The function was held at the iconic Mahalaxmi Racecourse, where friends and guests gathered to celebrate with the Tendulkar family ahead of the couple's wedding.

The evening was kept largely private, with only a select group of guests invited. Several of Sachin Tendulkar's long-time cricketing colleagues were present at the ceremony, including Ravi Shastri, Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Ajit Agarkar. The gathering reflected the close bonds Tendulkar shares with many of his former teammates, many of whom arrived to bless the couple and spend time with the family.

Members of the Tendulkar family were also seen interacting warmly with guests throughout the evening. Anjali Tendulkar was spotted accompanying her father, Anand Mehta, while Sachin briefly stepped out to see off political figures Raj Thackeray and Sharmila Thackeray after the ceremony.

Food was a major highlight of the mehendi evening. Guests were served signature dishes from the popular restaurant Gallops, known for its Punjabi cuisine, along with a variety of continental offerings. Adding a personal touch, the menu also featured Maharashtrian and coastal dishes believed to be among Tendulkar's favourites.

Despite the presence of paparazzi outside the venue hoping to capture glimpses of the celebrations, the family kept the event intimate and wrapped up the festivities relatively early.

The couple's wedding ceremony is set to take place on March 5 at the luxury St. Regis Mumbai, where more than 400 guests are expected to attend the celebrations. The hotel is also hosting the Indian and England cricket teams ahead of their semi-final clash at Wankhede Stadium, which is expected to result in heightened security around the venue.
