The website and app of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) which had crashed for several users is now back up. Many user had complained that they were not able to log in to their accounts to book tickets. Tatkal ticket booking services were impacted during this downtime.
The X handle of IRCTC also confirmed that the app is working fine now.

December 9, 2024According to service disruptions monitoring platform Downdetector, over 1,500 users have complained about IRCTC's website being down since 10 a.m. on Monday. Half of the 1,162 users on Downdetector said that the disruptions were on the website, while another 41% said that the app faced problems.

IRCTC's website showed the 'loading' sign when users tried to access it. On the other hand, the app showed a message that read "connect to the server”.
Several users shared their complaints on the social media platform X. Users also reported that they were getting a message about the downtime on the IRCTC website.

"Due to maintenance activity, e-ticketing service will not be available for next one hour. Please try later. For cancellation/file TDR please call at customer care no. 14646,0755-6610661 and 0755-4090600 or mail at etickets@irctc.co.in," the message read.
Sharing a post on X, a user said he has been facing trouble accessing IRCTC's website over the past few weeks.
“Is there any fraud happening on IRCTC. I try to book ticket every day at 10 AM for last 1 week and I am not even able to go to booking page. Website is down, app is down. What is wrong,” he said.
