Noida International Airport Ltd. on Monday conducted the first flight validation test ahead of the airport's commercial opening in April 2025. The test involved an IndiGo A320 Neo aircraft.
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu congratulated airport authorities for the success and said the prestigious project will not only benefit the Delhi NCR region but also help in connectivity within Uttar Pradesh.
"The landing of the plane today was a big achievement. We have done the work in record time and will complete the remaining work soon. The government will provide whatever support is required," Naidu told reporters after the landing test.
After the completion of the test, the aerodrome license will be issued by the regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation, only after which the airport will be ready for commercial operations.

In October, the aircraft 'Beech King Air 360 ER' flew over the premises to test the 'instrument lighting system' installed at the airport, according to a PTI report.
"Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of operated airports. All this was possible only with the support of the double-engine government. Jewar Airport will become the commercial hub of Western UP. Many cargo planes will go from here," Naidu said.
He also said operation of many more airports will start in the coming days.

Once all the four phases are completed, the airport's total capacity will rise to seven crore passengers per year.
AdvertisementThe airport will submit the application for aerodrome license this month after completing the validation flights. The airport's CEO Christoph Schnellmann in Sepetmber said there was a large interest from domestic and international carriers for the airport.
Yamuna International Airport Pvt, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is developing the Noida airport. The foundation stone for the project was laid in November 2021.
