Pre-monsoon pains lashed in parts of Mumbai on Sunday, May 31 as residents seek respite from soaring temperatures.
Several parts of Mumbai, including the island city, western suburbs and eastern suburbs, received moderate to heavy rainfall, with waterlogging reported in some areas, PTI reported. The suburbs of Dadar, Matunga, Khar, Chembur, Mankhurd, Kurla, Santacruz, Vile Parle, Andheri and Versova received significant rainfall. Additionally, some parts of Navi Mumbai also witnessed showers.
The Regional Meterological Centre, Mumbai in a post on X said, "Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, light to moderate rain, gusty winds with speed 40-50 kmph very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada."
