At least one person died, and three people suffered injuries after a part of the metro pillar collapsed in the Mulund area of Mumbai on Saturday noon.
The incident took place near the Johnson and Johnson Company on LBS Road in Mulund.
Newly elected Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde has rushed to the spot. According to BMC, the incident took place during the construction work.

Three to four persons are feared injured after a portion of a pillar of an under-construction metro rail route in Mulund in north-east Mumbai collapsed on Saturday afternoon, a fire… pic.twitter.com/f31K3vsYNj"During construction work, a portion of the parapet wall (size 6'X4' approximately) of the elevated metro train bridge fell on the running Auto Rickshaw and SKODA car," said BMC.
The deceased has been identified as Ramadhan Yadav. He was rushed to the hospital, but was declared dead.
Those injured include Rajkumar Yadav (45), Mahendra Yadav (52) and Deepa Ruhiya (40).
Meanwhile, a team of the Mumbai fire brigade, metro staff and officials from the ward have reached the spot.
