Shreyas Mishra, from Delhi, has claimed the highest marks in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Main) 2026 Session 1. The 17-year-old, residing in a paying guest accommodation in Punjabi Bagh, accomplished this remarkable achievement on his first try, which he termed as "Completely unexpected" he told Hindustan Times.

"My schedule wasn't fixed in terms of hours. Some days it used to be five to six hours, whereas on other days it stretched to 10 or 11. I tried to dedicate as much time as I could, but I still feel I wasted a lot of time," he told Hindustan Times.

Shreyas stood out as the sole student from Delhi among 12 individuals achieving a flawless 100 in JEE Main. The remaining high achievers hail from Rajasthan, Bihar, Odisha, and Haryana. To enhance his preparation, Mishra emphasised thoroughly understanding subjects instead of monitoring study hours.
