Israel's ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, has expressed doubts on Pakistan's involvement in the US-Iran ceasefire talks, calling Islamabad "not a credible player" on Thursday, as per ANI.

On Pakistan's mediator role in the ongoing US‑Iran ceasefire negotiations, Azar told ANI, "We don't see Pakistan as a credible player. I think that the United States has decided to use the services of the facilitation of Pakistan for their own reasons."

He added that in the past, the US has engaged with "problematic states like Qatar and Turkey" to achieve its own goals with Hamas.

In the current situation between the US and Iran, he clarified, "For us, it is very important to stay in sync with the United States when it comes to the substance and the essence of the outcome we want to see."

On Lebanon, he said, “It has nothing to do with the operation in Iran. When it comes to Lebanon, as I said, we have to achieve a situation in which southern Lebanon will be cleared of Hezbollah terrorist infrastructure. That's the responsibility of the Lebanese government. When it comes to Iran, we hope that this negotiation will lead to the conditions that are part of the 15-point plan," reported ANI.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir have been portrayed as the primary architects of a 14-day ceasefire between the US and Iran in April 2026. Prime Minister Sharif described the ongoing diplomatic mission as a unified "joint venture" between the civilian administration and the military leadership at GHQ. Highlighting the synergy within the state, the Prime Minister specifically praised General Munir for his "crucial role" in managing sensitive backchannel communications. According to Sharif, the Army Chief's involvement was instrumental in bridging the gap between Washington, Tehran, and key Gulf capitals to facilitate the peace process.

US President Donald Trump also credited Munir, stating that he was "extremely influential in stopping it [the war] from the Pakistan side."

Israel PM Netanyahu

Israel PM Netanyahu addressed the nation after the ceasefire announcement, saying, "Iran is weaker than ever, and Israel is stronger than ever. That is the bottom line of this campaign, as of this moment."

He warned Iran, "We are prepared to return to combat at any moment required. Our finger is on the trigger."
