Mumbai Rain Update: Moderate rainfall expected in city and suburbs with the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places, says IMD.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall for Maharashtra and Goa in the next few days, putting Mumbai on a yellow alert till May 27.

All coastal districts of Maharashtra are on a yellow to red alert, anticipating heavy rainfall due to a well-marked low-pressure area lying over the east-central Arabian Sea, off the south Konkan coast. This is expected to move nearly northwards and intensify further into a depression during the next 24 hours, the IMD said on Friday in its 2 p.m. bulletin.
