The Indian Council of Medical Research has invited vaccine manufacturers, pharma companies, R&D institutions, and in-vitro diagnostic kit manufacturers to develop vaccine and diagnostic kits to tackle the Monkeypox virus outbreak.

The selected organisation will receive a minimum 5% royalty from the products sales for a period of at least 20 years.

The partner organisation will also be allowed to undertake further R&D, manufacture, sell, and commercialise the vaccine and diagnostic kits. For this, ICMR will not only make available the Monkeypox virus strain, but also provide expert guidance and technical support.
