No lives were lost after Cyclone Biparjoy made a landfall in Gujarat, however, 23 people were injured and electricity supply was disrupted in about 1,000 villages in the state, NDRF Director General (DG) Atul Karwal told to PTI on Friday.
Karwal told reporters in Delhi that while two lives were 'tragically' lost before the landfall of the cyclone, not a single human life was lost post the landfall in Gujarat.

Eight companies of the State Disaster Response Force have been deployed in Jaipur, Kota, Bharatpur, Udaipur, Ajmer, Jodhpur and Bikaner and one company of the National Disaster Response Force has been deployed in Kishangarh in Ajmer district to rescue people affected by the heavy rains.
The local administration in the affected districts has also made preparations, such as arrangement of pumps and deployment of civil defence and disaster management teams, in view of the 'red' and 'orange' alerts.

Several areas of Jalore and Barmer districts in Rajasthan witnessed heavy rain due to Cyclone Biparjoy, which moved towards the state following its landfall in Gujarat, PTI reported.
A meteorological department official said 60-70 mm rains occurred at a few places on Thursday night and extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur in both the districts and adjoining areas on Friday.

PTI reported that Cyclone Biparjoy's centre will be over the land by 11:00 p.m.
"By 11 pm, its (cyclone's) centre will be over the land. The landfall process will continue till midnight, after which it will start weakening," says IMD DG Mrutyunjay Mohapatra.
Cyclone Biparjoy landfall has started in Saurashtra and Kutch regions of Gujarat, PTI reported citing the Indian Metrological Department.
The process of landfall of cyclone Biparjoy started in the Indian state of Gujarat at around 6:45 p.m. on Thursday evening.

The diameter of the eye of the cyclone is 50 km.
Cyclone Biparjoy is expected to make landfall near Jakhau Port soon, NDTV reported.
The windspeed at the area is between 110-115 kmph.
The state administration has so far shifted more than 94,000 persons living in eight coastal districts to temporary shelters, PTI reported.
The Ministry has advised media organisations to undertake abundant precaution and due care in the matter of deployment of their personnel in the areas likely to be affected.
It has also strongly recommended that under no circumstances the organisation should take decisions for deployment of such personnel in a way which may compromise the safety and security of the media personnel and follow the precautions being issued by local the administration.
Cyclone Biparjoy is likely to hit Jakhau Port in Gujarat's Kutch district on Thursday. The state administration has evacuated more than 74,000 people and deployed disaster management units for rescue and relief.
