Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu outlined an ambitious push to strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship and accelerate artificial intelligence‑driven economic growth at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. Naidu told NDTV's Vishnu Som the state is advancing a unique model titled “One Family, One Entrepreneur”, designed to catalyse household‑level enterprise creation with a strong emphasis on gender equity.

“In Andhra Pradesh, we are working on a concept of ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur' with gender equity for building grassroots enterprises,” he said.

According to the leader, Andhra Pradesh currently supports 10 lakh self‑help groups backed by a Rs 25,000‑crore corpus, enabling large‑scale participation in micro‑entrepreneurship. These groups have access to borrowing of up to Rs 60,000 crore, with relaxed repayment schedules under targeted lending norms.

“The default rate is below 1%. They are sincere and disciplined,” Naidu said, highlighting the financial credibility and repayment culture of the beneficiaries.

Alongside enterprise creation, Naidu announced a parallel initiative titled “One Family, One AI Use Case”, aimed at preparing citizens in Andhra Pradesh for the demands of a rapidly advancing knowledge economy. The programme seeks to ensure that every family in the southern state develops at least one practical application of artificial intelligence.

“In a knowledge economy, we can create companies sitting at home,” Naidu said, emphasising how digital infrastructure and AI tools can enable global‑scale innovation from within households.
