May Auto Sales Live Updates: Maruti Suzuki Shares Decline Over 1%
The shares of Maruti Suzuki fell 1.27% to Rs 12,960 per share. This comes amid the Maruti Suzuki May Sales call. The company said that it has not given any export targets due to uncertain global situation. However, it expect to atleast get last year's export number of 4.47 lakh units.

Mr. Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Our sales performance in May 2026 reflects the positive market acceptance of Toyota’s offerings and overall ownership experience. The sustained demand across our product portfolio highlights a growing preference for quality, reliability and advanced technologies."
He added that, "This month marked a significant milestone as we crossed 3 lakh Strong Hybrid Electric vehicle (SHEV) sales in India, underscoring the growing acceptance of SHEV technology and cleaner mobility solutions. This achievement further strengthens our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility through a multi-pathway approach."
May Auto Sales Live Updates: Olectra Green Expects Orders For 2,000 Units In FY27
Speaking to NDTV Profit, Olectra Green's Chairman and Managing Director Mahesh Babu said the company expects to secure orders for around 2,000 electric buses in FY27 and plans to deliver more than 2,500 units during the year.
He added that Olectra is set to launch new electric trucks and buses in the second half of FY27. The company's current order book stands at around 10,000 buses, while it continues to actively participate in fresh tenders.
Babu also highlighted that Olectra expanded its annual production capacity to 5,000 units in the third quarter of FY26. Despite the sharp increase in deliveries, the company has not compromised on margins, with FY26 deliveries rising 32% year-on-year while maintaining profitability.

India's retail auto sector marked the strongest-ever April this year, with the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations reporting total retail of 26.11 lakh units. This accounted for a 12.94% year-on-year jump that delivered all-time April records five of the six vehicle categories.
The two-wheeler segment led the charge in terms of volumes, retailing 19.16 lakh and registering growth of 13.01% on a yearly basis. Both urban and rural markets registered double-digit growth, supported further by the marriage season, healthy rabi-cycle rural liquidity and post-GST 2.0 affordability gains.
