Force Motors - May Auto Sales

• Total sales down 15.4% at 2,614 units year on year

• Domestic sales down 14.7% at 2,560 units year on year

• Export sales down 37.2% at 54 units year on year

Maruti Suzuki - May Business Update

• Total production volume up 17.4% at 2.3 lakh units year on year

• Total PV volume up 16.9% at 2.26 lakh units year on year

The shares of Maruti Suzuki fell 1.27% to Rs 12,960 per share. This comes amid the Maruti Suzuki May Sales call. The company said that it has not given any export targets due to uncertain global situation. However, it expect to atleast get last year's export number of 4.47 lakh units.

May Auto Sales: Ashok Leyland (YoY)

• Total sales at 14,923 units versus estimate of 16,700 units
• M&HCV sales declined 13% at 8,966 units
• LCV sales grew 15% at 5,957 units
• Total sales fell 4% at 14,923 units
• Growth in the light commercial vehicle segment was offset by weakness in medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales.

May Auto Sales: Tata Motors PV (YoY)

• PV sales at 59,790 units versus estimate of 60,700 units
• Domestic sales grew 42% at 59,090 units
• Exports rose 45% at 700 units
• Total sales increased 42% at 59,790 units
• Strong growth in both domestic and export markets supported overall passenger vehicle sales during the month.

May Auto Sales: Eicher Motors (Royal Enfield) (YoY)

• RE sales at 1.03 lakh units versus estimate of 1.05 lakh units
• Exports declined 33% at 9,116 units
• Models up to 350cc grew 19% at 90,784 units
• Models above 350cc fell 4% at 12,447 units
• Total sales increased 15% at 1.03 lakh units

• Domestic sales grew 19% at 30,784 units
• Exports declined 9% at 2,066 units

May Auto Sales: Atul Auto (YoY)

• Total sales rose 29.3% at 3,236 units
• Total sales stood at 3,236 units versus 2,503 units last year
• Strong double-digit growth in overall volumes during May 2026

May Auto Sales: Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (YoY)

• Total sales at 5.19 lakh units versus 4.65 lakh units
• Domestic sales rose 10% at 4.60 lakh units
• Exports jumped 24% at 59,166 units
• Total sales increased 12% at 5.19 lakh units
• Company sold 5.18 lakh units in May 2026
• Domestic sales accounted for nearly 89% of total volumes
• Exports contributed over 11% of total sales volumes

Mr. Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said, “Our sales performance in May 2026 reflects the positive market acceptance of Toyota’s offerings and overall ownership experience. The sustained demand across our product portfolio highlights a growing preference for quality, reliability and advanced technologies."

He added that, "This month marked a significant milestone as we crossed 3 lakh Strong Hybrid Electric vehicle (SHEV) sales in India, underscoring the growing acceptance of SHEV technology and cleaner mobility solutions. This achievement further strengthens our commitment to advancing sustainable mobility through a multi-pathway approach."

Speaking to NDTV Profit, Olectra Green's Chairman and Managing Director Mahesh Babu said the company expects to secure orders for around 2,000 electric buses in FY27 and plans to deliver more than 2,500 units during the year.

He added that Olectra is set to launch new electric trucks and buses in the second half of FY27. The company's current order book stands at around 10,000 buses, while it continues to actively participate in fresh tenders.

Babu also highlighted that Olectra expanded its annual production capacity to 5,000 units in the third quarter of FY26. Despite the sharp increase in deliveries, the company has not compromised on margins, with FY26 deliveries rising 32% year-on-year while maintaining profitability.

• Total sales up 35% at 2.42 lakh units

Total sales of Maruti Suzuki surged 35% to 2.42 lakh units on an year on year basis.

Ola Electric in an exchange filing on Monday, June 1 said that total reggistrations rose 23% at 15,139 units in May on a month on month basis.

• Total Sales at 4.61 lakh units versus estimate of 4 lakh units

Bajaj Auto sales for May rose 20% to 4.61 lakh units on an year on year basis.

India's retail auto sector marked the strongest-ever April this year, with the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations reporting total retail of 26.11 lakh units. This accounted for a 12.94% year-on-year jump that delivered all-time April records five of the six vehicle categories.

The two-wheeler segment led the charge in terms of volumes, retailing 19.16 lakh and registering growth of 13.01% on a yearly basis. Both urban and rural markets registered double-digit growth, supported further by the marriage season, healthy rabi-cycle rural liquidity and post-GST 2.0 affordability gains.
