Indian Rupee Ends Lower Against The U.S. Dollar In Volatile Session

The Indian rupee closed lower against the U.S. dollar after a volatile session.

The local currency depreciated 9.5 paise to 79.55 at the close.

During the day, the rupee gained as much as 17 paise to hit an intraday high of 79.29. It also slumped as much as 20 paise to an intraday low of 79.66. The rupee had opened 6 paise lower at 79.52.

Financial markets were closed on Wednesday for Ganesh Chaturthi festivities.

The rupee fell to an all-time low of 80.13 on Monday.
