The Indian rupee depreciated against the U.S. dollar after two days of gains.
The currency opened at 81.59 against the greenback, down 0.31% compared to Friday's close of 81.34. The rupee had remained firm after the RBI's repo rate hike on Friday.
During the day, the rupee fell as much as 0.72% to 81.93. At close, the local currency traded at 81.87, down 0.65%.
