Maruti Suzuki Rejigs Top Management As CV Raman, Shashank Srivastava Retire

Tarun Aggarwal is set to replace CV Raman as Maruti Suzuki’s head of engineering, while Partho Banerjee will take charge of marketing & sales from Shashank Srivastava. The changes are effective from April 1.

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has reshuffled its senior management as two key personnel achieved superannuation after spending most of their careers at India’s largest carmaker.

CV Raman, credited with creating the five-door Jimny and the Fronx compact SUV, has retired as head-engineering of the New Delhi-based carmaker. He will be replaced by Tarun Aggarwal—currently an executive officer and head of the powertrain vertical. Similarly, Shashank Srivastava has retired as head of marketing and sales. He will be replaced by Partho Banerjee, who so far led the services vertical.

Both Raman and Srivastava, who so far were among Maruti Suzuki's senior management personnel, will now be member executive committee, according to a company statement on Wednesday. The changes are effective April 1.

The other changes are:

  • Sandeep Raina, executive vice president and head of product development and cost and program management, has been redesignated as head of product planning.

  • Ram Suresh Akella, executive officer in the marketing vertical, has been redesignated as the head of the services vertical.

  • Rajesh Uppal has been transferred from the position of head – HR & IT to member executive committee.

  • Manoj Gautam, executive vice president in the IT vertical, has been redesignated as head of the IT vertical.

  • Salil B. Lal, executive vice president of the HR practice, has been redesignated as head of the HR practice.

  • Sunil Kakkar has been transferred from the position of head – supply chain to head – corporate planning.

  • Deepak Thukral, executive officer in the supply chain vertical, has been redesignated as head of the supply chain vertical.

  • Rahul Bharti, presently the head of corporate planning, has been redesignated as the head of corporate affairs.

The changes in the senior management personnel was approved by the board of directors at a meeting held on Wednesday.
