Indian equities ended lower, with Nifty falling nearly 0.17% to 22,080.80 and Sensex closing 0.13% lower at 72,989.93. Nifty 50 saw the longest losing streak of 10 days in 29 years.

Top Losers

Shares of Infosys Ltd., Reliance Industries Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd. and HCL Technologies Ltd. were top Nifty losers.

Top Gainers

State Bank of India, HDFC Bank Ltd., Tata Consultancy Services, ICICI Bank Ltd. and Bharat Electronics Ltd. shares cushioned the fall.

Sectoral Performance

Four sectoral indices fell, led by Nifty Auto, while Nifty Media was the biggest gainer.

Broader Markets

Broader indices were trading higher. Nifty Midcap 150 rose 0.16% and Nifty Smallcap 250 was trading 1.15% higher.

Market Breadth

The market breadth was skewed in the favour of buyers, as 2,216 stocks declined, 1,741 advanced and 129 remained unchanged on the BSE.
