Now, AirAsia India Offers Fares Starting Rs 990

AirAsia India is offering promotional fares starting from as low as Rs 990 on select routes. The promotional offer ends on June 21, according to the airline's website. The travel date under this offer varies, depending on the routes.

The Rs 990 fare is offered on the Bengaluru-Kochi route. The destinations covered under the promotional scheme include Goa, Pune, Vishakhapatnam, Delhi, Chandigarh, Guwahati and Imphal.

Travel dates under this scheme are classified under two categories - from October 1, 2015 to 14 February 2016 and from June 15, 2015 to 30 September 2015.

AirAsia India this month added Guwahati and Imphal to its network.

Eyeing more customers than rivals, airlines in the domestic market have time and again offered discounted airfares. Last week, Air India introduced a promotional scheme offering fares from Rs 1,777 on its domestic network of 66 destinations. Private carriers including Jet Airways, SpiceJet and IndiGo also announced similar low fare offers recently.

The July-September and January-March quarters are considered as lean season in terms of travel demand.

Domestic airlines carried 251.05 lakh passengers during January-April 2015 as against 207 lakh during the corresponding period a year ago - an increase of over 21 per cent.
